“To make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul. To do this, you need to experience solitude, which most people are afraid of, because in the silence you hear the truth and know the solutions.”
So said one Deepak Chopra.
And I can attest.
I have been going through a similar experience for the past few months. My difficulties have been forcing me to spend time with myself, in deep silence and I have discovered a ton of things going through this.
For one, I have seen things become clearer by the day and I find it a tad hilarious – and I should not – because in the sharp darkness, I see myself, my gifts, my potential, much clearer than I suspect I would have if I was not going through emotional mountains.
I’ve learned to never run away from doing the daunting work I need to be a better human being.
To, most importantly, be at peace with myself and through that, I have had interesting revelations about who I really am and why I am on earth. And what I am capable of.
Through sitting in silence, I have become more confident in myself and much more comfortable in my own skin – and there are very few things I find important than having those two things. Anything else is a luxurious second.
Deep in the silence, the path clears ahead of me and I then learn what to do.
Closing myself off from the world for the past four months has worked wonders for me!
I am much more confident now. And here’s the biggest upside yet: I am comfortable in my own skin.
